Volunteering with Grandmothers of Alberta for a New Generation
HIV and AIDS has had a devastating effect on sub-Saharan Africa leaving many children orphaned and in the care of their grandmothers. Grandmothers of Alberta for a New Generation (GANG) is a group of volunteer seniors doing valuable work in support of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign started by the Stephen Lewis Foundation in 2006 in response to the crisis. Become aware of the situation faced by these parenting grandmothers and the work being done to enhance their quality of life.
