Practicing Hope

There is no shortage of uncertainty in today’s world. Shifting gears to living from a place of hope rather than of impending despair is a choice. Dr. Jevne’s session will explore four questions. What is the nature of hope? What evidence is there of its benefits? What challenges hope? What strategies are in the tool kit of hope practice? Participants will leave feeling uplifted.

Biography

Dr. Ronna Jevne has a passion for the mental health for all ages. Prior to academia, she worked in the education, health care and corrections systems. As professor emeritus, psychologist and author, Dr. Jevne continues to encourage the intentional practice of hope. Believing that writing enhances wellbeing, together with her husband Hal she has created the Prairie Wind Writing Centre which has as its motto, "If a hope is unfulfilled, it is simply being refined. "
